We were driving to Charleston SC a few Sunday’s ago and as usual we are constantly monitoring the weather. I check the weather on my phone and the forecast shows scattered rain, but I think to myself it will be ok. The weather has been so whacky lately. Zech is only in town for the weekend from Afghanistan, so it is not something that we can re-schedule any time soon. We arrive at Middleton Place and the skies are dark, but no big deal. As soon as Rachel and Zech get out of the car it starts to rain.. Oh my goodness! You have got to be kidding me. Again, we say…it’s no big deal. We have photographed in the rain before. So, we start the session. As soon as we step foot onto the first path to the gardens, it starts to pour!! And I mean pour!! It was one of those situations where you just can’t believe it is happening. Poor Rachel spent 2 hours at a salon getting her hair and makeup done. They were both so amazing about the whole ordeal. We had to cancel!! Ugh! We decided to move the session to the morning because here again, it is not something we could re-schedule anytime soon with Zech being overseas. We also decided to attempt some beach shots that night hoping the storm would be far enough away that Folly Beach would be clear. Lucky for us, it was not raining and the skies were absolutely beautiful. It was also very nice the following morning for their session at Middleton Place. Everything turned out perfect! I was so happy for Rachel and Zech!!!
The image below is where we attempted to start the session in the rain. We literally only captured a couple of shots before it came pouring down. If you look at the pond to the right, you can see how bad it was already raining.
So, we arrive at Folly Beach and is was so perfect!! We had a wonderful time with Rachel and Zech…
Such a beautiful couple!
Romantic dancing to some live music on the peer..
The following morning at Middleton Place… we love Live Oaks!!
What a tree!!!!
